Abstract

This research deals with the dimensional analysis of the facial representation sculpted in a specific group of sacred sculpture, widely studied by specialists from its historical, aesthetic, stylistic, formal, iconographic, iconological aspects, among others. Based on this information and on the main stilems present in the works of the master sculptor Antônio Francisco Lisboa, the purpose of this research is to analyze the main facial anatomical forms and the possible
presence of reasons, patterns and proportions in the parts, between them and in relation to the whole. Therefore, the main focus of reading, dimensional analysis and comparative analysis of shapes has as main objective to identify, quantify and evaluate the presence of possible proportional metric relationships, inherent to the shapes sculpted from the comparative results present in the case study. The sculptures analyzed comprise copyrighted works and also
attributed to the sculptor, belonging to his three main phases of production, in addition to his sculptural language registered from facial stilems, widely studied, analyzed and applied by researchers in the identification of his production. The research methodology gathers the bibliographic survey for the construction of the theoretical framework, planning and organization for the collection of qualitative and quantitative data, in addition to the initial treatment of the data,
considering the presence of proportional similarities in the compared faces.
