Abstract

The article presents the remaining devotional images of Triumph Procession, wich took place in Salvador, Bahia, betwen 1762 e 1830, placing them in the socioeconomic, political and cultural context of the time, identifying its value as historical testimonies and analyzing its artistic nature, as elements of Christian imagery that under baroque language played a significant role in the affirmation of the faith and the secular alliance betwen the catholic Church and the
portuguese Crown in Brazil.
