Abstract

The present paper intends to present some elements of the history of organs of the Cathedral of Faro (Portugal) and of the Cathedral of Mariana (Brazil), because they can illustrate fundamental fragments of the history of Luso-Brazilian music and art. In addition, the main objective is to analyze the formal characteristics of the organs, wood carving and painting, in order to identify the similarities and distinctions between them.

Aziz José Pedrosa, Professor efetivo da Universidade do Estado de Minas Gerais

Aziz José de Oliveira Pedrosa é bacharel em Design, especialista em História e Cultura da Arte, mestre e doutor em Arquitetura e Urbanismo. Cumpriu residência pós-doutoral na Escola de Arquitetura da Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais. Professor efetivo da Universidade do Estado de Minas Gerais. Investiga temáticas relacionadas à arte, à arquitetura e à cultura colonial luso-brasileira (séculos XVIII e XIX). No doutorado concluiu a tese vencedora do Prêmio Científico Mário Quartin Graça (Portugal - 2017), categoria de Ciências Sociais e Humanas.
