Abstract

Master of Art, his mains work in silver, wood and polychrome. Joaquim Francisco de Assis
Pereira was an artist born and dead in São João del-Rei city. This artist was born in 1813, son
of a goldsmith, learned the labor with his dad, and, during his lifetime developed abilities to
work with wood and also with the paints. He integrated all of the religious brotherhoods in São
João del-Rei in his lifetime. The metodology used was the research in the archive of the parish
of Our Lady of the Pilar and also the revision on other sources.
