There is an anonymous artist. A signature by the mark of carving and devotion. There are scratches on saints and sacred materials, in the terreiros of religions of African origin and on Catholic altars. This article, part of the public presentation at the XIII International Congress of Devotional Sculpture (CEIB, Penedo, Alagoas, October 10, 2024), narrates some religious and aesthetic evidence present in the Coleção Perseverança, specifically in some of its sculptures that represent the memory of religious figures who were attacked in February 1912, in the state of Alagoas.
