Prensadas, or Pressed, collects images Salinas excised from publications over the course of nine months. Each image represents a single publication and is annotated by a number indicating of men and women Salinas found in each periodical. Part of Salinas’ project, as she writes in an introduction, was to find how often and in what manner each gender was depicted in the popular imagination. The results, she says, surprised her.
